Historic Riverview and Colonial Place
The Eighth Annual Colonial Place-Riverview Front Porch Art Walk was held Sunday, October 8th, from noon to 5 pm, throughout the historic Riverview and Colonial Place neighborhoods in Norfolk. Over 30 resident artists in these two historical waterfront communities converted their porches to art galleries, displaying their work for touring visitors and neighbors. The Art Walk's mission is to showcase the many artists who live here and to celebrate the unique aspects of these classic, old-fashioned Norfolk neighborhoods as visitors tour at leisure, enjoying art, gardens, and architecture. And the best part. It's free! The Lydia Roper Home (127 E. 40th Street in Riverview) hosted our first "Tasting Gallery," where many of our participating artists submitted a sample work to give our guests an idea of what to expect on their porches. Complimentary snacks and drinks were also provided. Additional hospitality stops were at The Ruckstaetter Family home on Carolina and the Riverview Coffee Parlor, 4117 Granby.
