CPRV kicks off spooky season with community spirit, September updates, upcoming meetings, special election, Happy Hour, and Art Walk fun this fall!
NORFOLK, VA – High gas prices, rising food costs and increased living expenses are putting the squeeze on household budgets everywhere. Norfolk Animal Care & Adoption Center (NACC) doesn’t want residents to struggle to feed their pets. Thanks to the Friends of Norfolk Animal Care Center’s (FNACC) Pet Pantry, NACC can provide that lifeline to families facing hardship. Now, with the help of Norfolk Public Library, the Pet Pantry program is expanding to make it easier and more accessible by bringing resources right into the community.
Once a month, NACC’s Waggin’ Wheels Mobile Pet Pantry will bring free pet food, resources, and engagement opportunities to a different Norfolk Public Library anchor branch. FNACC is funding the new initiative.
The first Pet Pantry stop is on April 8 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Jordan-Newby Anchor Branch Library at Broad Creek.
Waggin’ Wheel’s Mobile Pet Pantry will stop at the following locations and dates, from noon to 2 p.m.:
April 8, May 13, July 8, October 14

Our September Community Happy Hour at Elation Brewing was a fantastic success! CPRV neighbors enjoyed lively conversation, delicious pizza, and local brews, making new connections and celebrating a great local business.

On September 6th, the Colonial Place Riverview (CPRV) Civic League held its first-ever community yard sale, with over 27 residents participating. The event not only helped neighbors clear out their attics, but also raised much-needed funds for the civic league and sparked a welcome increase in membership.
